Respiratory Fit Testing
The purpose of conducting respirator fit testing is to ensure that employees who are exposed to airborne contaminates are properly protected. Quantitative Respirator Fit Testing is conducted to get an accurate fit test. A properly fitted respirator will help to prevent contaminated air from entering an individual’s lungs.
The CSA Standards for respiratory protection recommends Quantitative Fit Testing as the industry standard for all fit testing. ECS Safety Services complies and adheres to this standard and can assist our clients with their respiratory program.
Prior to fit testing and respirator use, an individual should complete a health surveillance as recommended by the CSA Standards Z94.4-18. This is used to determine if an employee has any medical conditions that may prohibit the use of wearing a respirator.
